Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

Hideout ("we", "us") is a social app for saving and sharing spots with friends. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.

Who can see your content

Content in Hideout is shared with your friends by default, not publicly. If you choose to make something public, the app will warn you before you do. Photos are stored in private storage and served through secure, time-limited links.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, on servers located in Australia (Sydney region). Account emails are delivered via Resend. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Children

Hideout is not available to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and choices

If you are in New Zealand, you also have rights under the Privacy Act 2020, including the right to access and correct your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete content or your account, it is removed from the live service, with residual copies removed from backups on a rolling basis.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the new date above.
